I had my own business cleaning houses for two years. I went around different neighborhoods and put small peices of paper with my name and phone number on their doors. I got quite a few customers that way. I can`t do it now because I am disbaled and can barely clean my house. I did pretty good while I was in business though. I also made sure I paid my taxes too.

A friend of mine has a business like that. He has about 20 people working for him and they clean mostly offfices.

I have a friend that has people working for her too. I never went that far. I got very tired of cleaning lol.
